About Vedabase Original

Vedabase Original is a digital library presenting the original, unrevised editions of books by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder-Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).

Why Original Editions?

After Srila Prabhupada's departure in 1977, his books have undergone various revisions by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT). While some corrections were necessary (typos, Sanskrit errors), many devotees prefer the original editions that Prabhupada personally approved during his lifetime.

This site provides access to the original editions, verified against first-edition printed books, so readers can study the texts exactly as Prabhupada approved them.

All texts are sourced from Vedic Vault's Original Vedabase project, which has meticulously verified texts against 68 scanned PDFs of first-edition printed books, documenting and correcting 4,077 differences from later editions.
